Rincon Vipers Baseball Club

Team History

Established in the summer of 2018, the Rincon Vipers Baseball Club is a travel baseball club that plays in tournaments sanctioned by USSSA, TPR & All World Baseball in the AA & AAA divisions of play. The Vipers started the club with only a 9u and 10u division team, and has now expanded to a 9u thru 18u division teams after a successful first season.

Team Selection

There will be no tryouts for Vipers teams. Players will be evaluated during the spring baseball season and rosters will be selected by the coaching staffs based on a number of different factors. Player rosters will consist of a minimum of 10 players upward to 13 players. Depending on the number of interested families, red shirt practice only players will be considered, or additional Vipers teams that play in a single A or AA divisions will be added.

Players must live or go to a school in the Rincon Valley School District area to be eligible for team selection.

Vipers age divisions are strongly suggested to follow Little League age charts, not USSSA player age charts. USSSA players who meet lower division age rules or use school grade waivers may play for a lower age division team with Vipers Board approval. Exceptions are single game/tournament substitutes due to roster size limitations. Players may play up a division should that team have a roster limitation.

Team Commitment

Each Vipers team will practice a minimum of two times a week (excluding tournament weekends). The Vipers Board encourage kids to play other sports, and are flexible on practices and tournaments. But we ask parents and players to commit to being at as many practices and tournaments possible. Tournament schedules will be released at the start of the season and will need final commitments at that time. Players will not be able to change plans should their schedule open up and a replacement player has already been contacted.

Player Play

Rincon Vipers Baseball Club is a competitive pay to play team. This means no kid will arrive to a tournament and not play. The Rincon Vipers use the Little League minimum play rules of at least two innings in the field and one at bat a game (Excluding time/score shortened games). Its suggested that Saturdays be continuous batting order and Sundays will be teams manager decision on number of kids who bat in the order. Above minimum play will still be utilized. Vipers players will typically only play one or two positions throughout the season allowing them to own a position and master it. Not every kid will pitch or play infield. The goal is to develop these kids and help them realize every position on the diamond is as important as another.

Manager Selections

The Rincon Vipers holds all managers to a very high standard for both competition to better their team but also conduct at tournaments. Managers who coach for the Rincon Vipers Baseball Club must follow all rules set forth by USSSA and the Rincon Vipers Baseball Club philosophy. Managers who do not follow the clubs direction is subject to dismissal from team and potential team folding. The Rincon Vipers Baseball Club values the respect and notoriety its established with the local baseball clubs.
